The n-Trance n-Tegrity Professional 1GB Secure Data Storage device is an amazing little tool with superb security capabilities. n-Pass the bundled security software give the user an ample selection of security settings enabling defense in depth security along with 256-AES encryption. Multiple features coupled with easy to operate complex security algorithms make the n-Tegrity a great data storage solution. This device is more than secure storage, it is another layer of security without causing undue stress on a user.

Score 4.5 out of 5. Very cool device that is inexpensive enough to replace if you lose it and powerful enough to use every day.

With data security the n-Tegrity Pro has a very robust assortment of encryption options that satisfies even government security protocols and with a slew of options you can tailor it to fit what method you prefer. The built in n-Pass software allows you to store passwords, web forms and e-mail in an encrypted environment so you no longer have to remember that slew of usernames and passwords.
So in the end, while the 1 GB model would be ideal to just use as an encrypted storage point for passwords and e-mail, a larger capacity drive would be at a disadvantage if they have the same performance as the Pro 1 GB. I certainly would lose patience moving a file larger than 1 GB.

We have come to rely on these ubiquitous strings of text to protect our finances, aspects of our identity, and even our virtual assets which have begun to carry individual value. As a result of the meteoric rise of the password’s importance, they have become a commodity in their own right. A type of virus known as the keylogger, expressly designed to harvest passwords, has multiplied at an alarming rate; studies conducted by (PDF) the security firm Symantec have indicated a 63% rise in prevalence between 2003 and 2005. Even empirical analysis clearly demonstrates the value of the password. Identity theft has become a 43.5 billion dollar industry and it is squarely on us to acknowledge the password’s value so we are not accomplices in the theft of our own assets.

This is a cool drive and the main thing is that its quite safe. I have not been able to access it without a password or fingerprint. It does not show up the drive itself in explorer if I don't use my fingerprint on the reader. I think the extension cable is a bit to short if you plug the drive in the back of your computer as you need to reach down to put your finger on the reader. Speedwise it lacks a bit which is essential in these busy days so I feel it will lose a bit of buyers due to this. I like the drive though and will use it for my senstive files though. Overall a cool drive that works great and has a bunch of cool features as Skype, Miranda etc on it already. It does not install any software on your computer which makes it good to bring to work on your friends house.

If you can live with the shortcomings that I documented in the Gripes section above, then the n-Tegrity Pro is a competent product. In particular the n-Pass component has a few useful features such as the encryption ability, credential management, contact management (for encryption) and VPN credentials and site management.

За месяц использования пары устройств n-Tegrity, в течение которого, я смог реально оценить что, n-Tegrity - это непросто красивый аппаратный девайс. Огромного уважения заслуживает грамотность и тщательность, с которой разработчики подошли к разработке программного обеспечения. В результате, удалось получить девайс, без которого начинаешь ощущать себя «голым» в виртуальном пространстве.
